In addition to sustaining an active program of research, responsibilities include teaching and supervision of undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate learners. Teaching will be strategic and aligned with the research-intensive nature of the role, with contributions to graduate-level teaching and mentorship of Graduate Students, Family Medicine Residents, and undergraduate learners, including Dean’s Summer Research Project students.
The successful candidate will also participate in service activities appropriate to rank, including involvement in Departmental and College Committees and contributions to research governance and strategic planning. Opportunities may exist to assume leadership roles in the PBRLN-SK (Practice-Based Research and Learning Network) and other research or innovation initiatives. The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with communities, Nations and patients with lived and living experience (PWLE), and to build relationships with external partners, including the Saskatchewan Health Authority and the Ministry of Health.
Qualifications:
Applicants must hold a PhD in Health Sciences, Public Health, or a closely related discipline and demonstrate the ability to lead an independent research program, with evidence of scholarly productivity (e.g., peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and knowledge translation activities appropriate to career
stage)
Applicants must hold a degree in a health care profession (e.g. medicine, nursing, social work, etc.), although licensure is not required. And have experience conducting research relevant to primary care or Family Medicine, including participatory, equity-focused, or strategic patient-oriented research (SPOR).
Engagement with national or international primary care research organizations (e.g. College of Family Physicians of Canada, North American Primary Care Research Group, Society for Academic Primary Care, and/or TUTOR-PHC) is considered an asset.
Candidates should demonstrate experience contributing to applied, community-engaged, and health systems research, along with the ability to teach and supervise learners in an academic health sciences environment. Strong interpersonal, leadership, communication, and collaborative skills are essential, as is the ability to build partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
The current salary band for Assistant Professor is $113,527 – 135,535.

Interested candidates must submit, via email, a cover letter; detailed curriculum vitae; teaching portfolio; and contact information for three references in support of your application. Due to federal immigration requirements, we also ask candidates to indicate whether they are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or are otherwise already authorized to work at this position for the duration of the appointment, with an explanation if this last category is indicated.
